Things I’ve built.

Jazz Signal
Jazz Discovery using aggregated curation and AI. Crawls 50 or so jazz blogs, and aggregates and analyzes with Google Gemini. Not currently running, but you can see a video at the Read More link.

OCR Workbench
OCR Workbench is an environment for OCRing documents and producing a transcription, in either Markdown or HTML format. Since even AI-generated OCR of old documents frequently requires significant editing, OCR Workbench includes tools to edit the raw OCR’d text.

The Hawaii Project
The one that started it all. After I left Telenav, after the goby acquisition, I wanted to work on books. So I built The Hawaii Project, a personalized Book Recommendation engine.

Bookship
A social reading app that lets people share their reading experiences. Whether it’s reading a great novel with your best friend across the country, a business book with your co-workers, or participating in a neighborhood book club, Bookship enriches your reading experience and your relationships.

TBR Book List Reading Tracker
TBR is a fast, elegant and modern place to track your reading. The books you want to read (your TBR, To Be Read), the books you are reading, and the books you’ve read. You can also organize your books into custom lists of your own choosing.

TBR Chrome Extension
The TBR Book Bookmarker finds books mentioned on web pages, and lets you save them for later. It’s like a Trapper/Keeper for books. You can also click out to the book’s Bookshop.org or Amazon page.

Book Roulette
Book Roulette is a Chrome extension that shows you an interesting new book each time you open a new tab in Chrome (or Brave!)

Book Playlist
Build Spotify playlists for books. Since subsumed into The Hawaii Project.
Featured on Product Hunt.

What Should I Read Next?
An Alexa skill for doing voice-based book recommendations. Since retired due to strange Amazon (non)profanity requirements.

Codexmap
It’s defunct, but it plotted book locations on a google map.
