OK, I just invented a cocktail that needs a name.
I’m sitting here listening to the inimitable Eric Taylor singing Hemingway’s Shotgun.
Now, as you know, Hemingway was known for his Daiquiris. This is kind of a simple, strong, mutant Daiquiri, which I henceforth dub the Hemingway’s Shotgun:
- 2.5 oz Plantation Artisanal Original Dark Rum (moderately priced but extremely good!)
- 1 oz fresh squeezed Grapefruit juice
- 1/4 oz vanilla simple syrup
- extra credit: a maraschino cherry
Shake over cracked ice, serve up in a martini glass.
